CUT BECAUSE YOU DON’T CARE
I was trying to import Chrono Trigger tilesets and sprites for PERFECTLY VALID REASONS. The tilesets actually aren’t that hard – they’re just badly-documented – but I’m stuck on the sprites. Chrono Trigger sprites use six frames in their walk animations, and RPG Maker VX’s sprite format only has room for three. I can’t figure out a way to deal with an odd number of frames without a mid-stride sprite that’s perfectly symmetrical, and Chrono Trigger’s sprites are resolutely asymmetrical.
The run animations seem to only be four frames, so I’ll probably experiment with those when I am not ANGRY AT THE WORLD. I just don’t think they’ll look right in my brilliant project.
